Baptism Information Form

Fully giving yourself to Jesus... that’s the answer to life itself. If you have made that commitment to Christ, congratulations! Please fill out this form completely, and you will be contacted soon.

In Matthew 28:19 Jesus said, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Baptism is the public declaration of your faith, concerning the inward work that God is doing in your heart. It is not your salvation. Salvation only comes through faith in Jesus Christ. But having accepted the gift of salvation, baptism then becomes your way of saying, “Hey out there, I want the world to know that I’m a Christian!”

Please fill out your info and share your personal testimony.

What is Baptism?

A Symbol. When you made the decision to follow Jesus, your sins were washed away as you put your faith in his saving work on the Cross (1 John 1:9).Baptism symbolizes this. It also symbolizes your identification with Jesus in both his death (going under the water) and resurrection (coming out of the water). Similar to a wedding ring being a symbol of marital commitment, baptism is an outer representation of what has happened in your heart.

A Public Declaration. In baptism, you are stating that you are leaving behind your old life of sin and embracing the life that God has designed you for
(2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 3:27, Romans 6:6)

A Public Commitment. In baptism, you are telling the family of God, the Church, I have decided to follow Jesus for the rest of my life. I belong to you! I want you to keep me accountable.

A Step of Obedience. Jesus himself was baptized by John, & the Bible commands it (Matthew 3:13-17, Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19). Believers throughout history have been baptized to proclaim their total allegiance and commitment to Jesus, regardless of the consequences. For some early Christians, this meant identifying with Christ even to the point of death, since many of them faced severe persecution.

What Baptism isn't

A Ticket to Heaven. Scripture tells us that the only way to heaven is through putting our faith in Jesus as our Saviour. There is no list of good works we can do to make ourselves worthy of heaven, only Jesus can do this (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8)

What Saves Us. Once again, if you are being baptized, it is because God has already saved you, cleansed you of your sin, etc. There is nothing magic in the water that does that work. Watchman Nee described Baptism as “...an outward expression of an inward faith.”

A Way to Earn God’s Love. God loves you unconditionally. While this is a special day to remember and celebrate his love, it does not make God love you more, or promote you to higher standing with him. Good news! There is nothing you can do to make God love you any less, and there is nothing you can do to make him love you any more! His love for you is unfailing (1 John 1:3)

What should I wear?

We will give you a shirt that says, “I have decided to follow Jesus.” Wear it that day, and you can keep it to wear afterwards, too! Ladies, please wear a bathing suit underneath your baptism shirt along with a pair of shorts. Guys, please wear a bathing suit along with your shirt. Be sure to bring a towel and a change of clothes Be sure to bring a towel and a change of clothes.
